Our Impact

Just as there are countries and sectors that matter most to accelerating carbon emission reductions, there are also specific policies that should be prioritized to more rapidly decarbonize our economy. We cannot stop climate change without committing to reaching the four zeros in the energy-consuming economic sectors:

1. Zero carbon grid
2. Zero emission vehicles
3. Zero emission buildings
4. Zero waste manufacturing

The way to judge any climate strategy is to see if it contributes rapidly, at large scale, to at least one of these four zeros. It turns out that about a dozen policies can make enormous contributions, while hundreds only make modest improvements. The Crux Alliance was formed to address all four zeros as quickly as possible over the coming decade.
