Türkiye has set a 2053 net-zero target. Important strategies and plans exist up to 2035—but a comprehensive, official long-term roadmap beyond that horizon is still lacking. Global and regional developments, combined with Türkiye’s political and economic conditions, present both opportunities and challenges for decarbonizing the country’s energy sector in the coming years.

So what is standing in the way of accelerated progress? And where are the biggest opportunities to move faster and more strategically?

Ahead of COP31, Crux Alliance and INETTT are pleased to host SHURA Energy Transition Center—Türkiye’s leading independent clean energy think tank known for its rigorous, data-driven analysis of the country’s energy transition—for a candid discussion on where things stand and what needs to happen next.
